Shows, Shows, and More Shows
So Record Store Day was a few weeks ago and I played my first show in something like 9 years (I counted) the eve before and opened for Kid, You’ll Move Mountains. In addition to having my wife in my corner, fellow bloggers Reba (from Love Shack Baby) and Steve (from Baby Stew) were there (Read more…)
A Little Perspective
Sorry for the lack of posting around here recently. I’ve been busy writing and rehearsing for my first show in many years opening for my friends Kid, You’ll Move Mountains tomorrow night to kick off Record Store Day. Like I said, it’s been a long time since I was in a band and a long (Read more…)
Record Store Day, Kid, You’ll Move Mountains, & Me
A week from this coming Saturday is Record Store Day 2011. That’s April 16th folks. Go out, buy some vinyl and support your local independent record stores. I’ll be checking out the Midnight Sale at Kiss The Sky in Geneva, IL and doing my part. Before that sale starts, I’ll be hanging out with my (Read more…)
Maritime / Kid, You’ll Move Mountains – 11/13/10 @ House Cafe
It was a few weeks ago that the wife and I headed out to DeKalb, IL to a really cool venue called the House Cafe to see Maritime and our pals in Kid, You’ll Move Mountains. Gold Motel also played. We met up with the great bloggers from Baby, You Got A Stew Goin’ and (Read more…)
Kid, You’ll Move Mountains / Unicycle Loves You / Bishop Allen – Live 2/5/10 @ Lincoln Hall
Friday night the Mrs. and I headed out to our first show at what is probably Chicago’s newest live music venue, Lincoln Hall. It’s the new space from the same guys who’ve owned Schubas (one of our faves) for years and they really didn’t miss a thing. The main bar looks like just about any (Read more…)

Did you know that on January 2nd, 2010, Chicago’s Metro will be the host of the Greatest Show Ever featuring the likes of CYSTSFTS faves Kid, You’ll Move Mountains and Venna as well as Picture Books and Crayolala. Best of all, the bands are all offering up their latest releases for free at www.greatestshowever.com plus (Read more…)
The Nicest Guy in the World?
Okay. I just have to say that Jim from the band Kid, You’ll Move Mountains has got to be one of the nicest people ever on the face of the earth (and I’m not just saying this because his band is great even though they are). Let me explain… I’ve seen KYMM live and met (Read more…)
Kid, You’ll Move Mountains – Live 05/30/09 @ Doug’s Rockhouse
It is a very rare occasion that there is any sort of show out in the suburbs that is worth going to. Last night (however) the awesome Kid, You’ll Move Mountains played at Doug’s Rockhouse in Aurora. An interesting venue that I never knew existed despite going to the DMV right next door a number (Read more…)
Kid, You’ll Move Mountains – Loomings
Kid, You’ll Move Mountains is easily the best band from Chicago’s Western ‘burbs (my stomping grounds) that I’ve heard in quite some time but for whatever reason, I’ve been meaning to review Loomings (their most recent release) for, like, forever. Maybe the reason I haven’t is that the band makes comparisons difficult. I don’t usually (Read more…)
