Wilco’s got another concert DVD coming out in March featuring footage from their 2008 Blue Sky Blue tour. The DVD was also created by Brendan Canty (of Fugazi fame). Read more…

And speaking of Wilco, did you know that Jeff Tweedy’s 13 year old son, Spencer, has a blog? He does and it is actually a good read. www.spencertweedy.com

This one is funny. Houston Calls kicked out Jose because he shacked up with Tom’s ex-girlfriend. I’m serious. Read more…

Hear a new Andrew Bird song from his upcoming album courtesy of NPR’s All Songs Considered. Read/hear more…

This one really isn’t from Twitter even though I have written about it there. So over the holidays, I was introduced to the music of The Ting Tings and I didn’t hate it. I don’t know why, but I didn’t. Maybe it is because Hailey (my 3 year old daughter) has just randomly been singing, “That’s not my name! That’s not my… name!” over and over the past few days. So just remember this; The Ting Tings are a children’s group. You heard it here first.

The Ting Tings did a pretty O.K. version of Altered Images “Happy Birthday” on Yo Gabba Gabba! a while back, so that too proves you hypothesis…Ting Tings are for the kids.

My 11 month old was mesmerized by that iPod commercial with the Ting Tings’ “Shut Up and Let Me Go” a few months back. They also made an appearance on Yo Gabba Gabba and have a song on the soundtrack for that show. Totally a kid’s band. But it’s hard to hate these songs.

give the tings another shot; they are fun, perhaps low brow but great cardio music for the gym (and dancing with my 10 year-old niece – perhaps I just proved your point!) What do u think of 31 knots? Compass commands is great and what I hear on myspace sounds pretty good.
