My wife’s hometown (and the people in it) just got a little cooler. When I got married here five years ago, my brother asked for “the best beer” that the bar served and got a Labatt’s. Not a good start. There is now (however) a bar in this small central Pennsylvania town that serves brews from Victory, Dogfish Head, and even Bell’s. Heck, even the local brewery is making s Special Dark lager. Times are changing.

In music related new, one great new band that came to my attention in 2007 is Boston’s The Main Drag. In addition to an excellent debut album Your’s As Fast As Mine, they’ve recorded an amazing cover of LCD Soundsystem’s stellar single “All My Friends.” It may actually be better than the original.
