Day Five Without Mommy (the big three oh)

Yes. Today is my birthday and I’m 30. I’m not taking the day off nor am I doing anything particularly special. It’s just another day. I’ll even post some reviews this evening. Hailey and I will go for a jog (she’ll just ride though) when I pick her up after work. I’ll put her to bed and then probably watch the late Cubs game. I have no worldly observations about growing up and getting older to share with any of you. I don’t even have any real remarks about this one. Just another day.

So Amy got into Albuquerque late last night and shortly after I watched (again) the Sigur Ros live performance/documentary film Heima. It is incredible. Anyhow, she got in NM shortly before Hailey woke up with a bloody nose. She was dripping everywhere and crying but I finally got her calmed down and (again) into our bed. It is always something with this one.

Urgh… Amy is going to celebrate my birthday by going to see Rocky Votolato, and Dameon Lee (of Lowlights) tonight. Should be fun. Really, it is actually strange that I spent my 21st birthday in Albuquerque and Amy is spending my 30th there. Very strange indeed.
