Review: Team Stray – Popular Mechanics

Team Stray - Popular MechanicsCincinnati’s Team Stray plays high-energy pop-punk that is more saccharine than cotton candy and chocolate bunnies swimming in a baby pool filled with Mountain Dew. Their latest album Popular Mechanics is fast, addictively catchy, and stylistically comparable to Sicko, Teen Idols, or (perhaps) The Queers. The lyrics are your typical goofy juvenile fare about girls, drinking, girls, and ,well, more girls. Like making out with an ice cream sundae, Popular Mechanics is sweet, messy, and very tasty, but will (ultimately) leave you longing for a little more roughage. All that being said, this is great for what it is and damn near impossible to turn off once you start the record spinning.
