Without even looking it up, I can tell you with 99.9% certainty that Such Gold has got to be from somewhere near Buffalo, NY (Rochester actually). Who else is gonna write a song called “Four Superbowls, No Rings?” So yeah, Such Gold’s new EP, Stand Tall, was recently released and features the three songs from their demo and two more. It’s fairly straightforward pop-core that has enough (dare I say) wimpy emo tendencies to avoid sounding exactly like every other band in the genre. The songs are fast and urgent but melodic and catchy with all the “woah’s” and East Coast hardcore influences you could ask for. Heck, parts of the title track almost (ok, it does) remind me of Texas Is The Reason but mostly it sounds like All Or Nothing and/or way early New Found Glory. The Stand Tall EP is thoroughly enjoyable and short enough that you will most likely find yourself playing it over and over.

Minnesota Vikings are also in this category (0-4). Just saying.
So I overlooked Minnesota. Thanks for pointing it out. At least they’ve spread their losses out over a wider period of time.
Who else is gonna write a song called “Four Superbowls, No Rings?” – Minnesota fans?
dang, beaten to it by an hour!
I fully back this band and this EP!
As do I. Such Gold is such good. Now why didn’t I use that one in the review? Damn!
