How good is Strike Anywhere? I mean, seriously? Their new album Iron Front (the band’s first since 2006’s Dead FM) is full of potently blistering melodic hardcore punk. It isn’t anything you haven’t heard before from Strike Anywhere, but Iron Front is razor-sharp; more focused and biting than anything else the band has released. Vocalist Thomas Barnett’s spits out screams and gruff melodies like he’s fighting for his life and he ain’t gonna lose while his band mates churn out fist-pumping songs at speaker-searing speeds that simply explode into huge sing-a-long choruses.
Both personal and political, everything about Iron Front is screaming for change; screaming at the current state of affairs in the good old US of A. Despite the venom, the Richmond, VA punk powerhouse has also managed to make this the catchiest, most melodic, and most anthemic album of their careers as well. Even my wife (who doesn’t really like hardcore at all) loves Strike Anywhere. It’s incredible. Iron Front is the soundtrack to a revolution, a catalyst for action, the spark that ignites an uprising. It’s the perfect example of just how powerful music can still be. The question is (however) is anyone listening? Iron Front is out now on Bridge Nine Records.

Thank God I stumbled on this. I haven’t been paying attention and would’ve missed the new album.
I’m only on the second track you’ve got posted but it seems even more on the melodic side of melodic hardcore. And it seems like they’ve topped themselves.

Thanks for the kind words Cody. As for the avatar, I’m guessing you have a WP account with a profile picture specified.
