Review: Sarah Blasko – What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have

sarah-blasko-what-the-sea-wantsOk. I’m gonna make this one short and sweet. If you liked the last two Laura Veirs albums, I think you’ll like Aussie indie pop darling Sarah Blasko’s latest album What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have. You might even like it better. What The Sea Wants… is a little darker than anything from Veirs, but equally as good. Not to say that there aren’t great pop moments, but it is infinitely more complex than your standard radio-friendly unit shifters. This record (in many places) seriously reminds me of Radiohead a lot and for those of you keeping score at home, that’s a good thing.
