Review: Shorebirds – Shorebirds 7″

Holy bitchcakes Batman, this is fucking amazing! For those of you who (like me) have been living under a rock lately, Shorebirds features Chris Bauermeister from Jawbreaker (maybe you’ve heard of ‘em) and Matt Canino of the late great Latterman. Seems that after Latterman broke up Canino moved Olympia, Washington and well… this is what happened. So Shorebirds sound like a simpler version of Latterman thanks to Canino’s distinctive vocals. A more straightforward and less overtly political Latterman. So basically what you have is fucking amazing gruff pop-punk that might forever be billed as ex-Latterman & ex-Jawbreaker. My only question is why didn’t I know about this sooner? Why didn’t I find out about Shorebirds before they broke up? Why, why why? Anyhow, this 7” is being repressed by the awesome folks at No Idea so here’s your chance to have one.

They’re streaming the full length over at punknews.org right now and it’s killer. Had to break up so soon?
