Are you looking for a little pop punk to close out the waning days of summer? Look no further than the Smart & Stupid EP from New Brunswick, New Jersey’s Scream Hello. These songs should (and I’m not even kidding) be the background music to an ESPN Baseball Tonight highlight reel. It ain’t fancy it’s just good melodic pop punk that falls somewhere in between Bayside and Underground Railroad To Candyland. Scream Hello employs lengthier songs and cleaner vocals than many of their peers and it makes ‘em stand out a bit. This EP isn’t over-produced but isn’t really gritty either; it’s a little bit of the something for everyone spirit. When I listened to this EP, I made a note that I would love to hear a full-length from these guys and with one due out on September 9th from the always awesome Red Leader Records. Check it. Ugh!
