Review: Say Hi – The Wishes And The Glitch

Say Hi To Your MomIf y’all are in Chicago and aren’t doing anything tonight, you should head over to the Beat Kitchen for an early show featuring Say Hi. I’ll be there enjoying their spry but cloudy and brilliantly low key indie pop. Say Hi’s latest album The Wishes And The Glitch is full of a loose glorious racket and an understated energy. Say Hi often sounds as if they are ready to break it wide open but never quite shift it into that last gear. The Wishes And The Glitch is excellent and has elements that remind me of stuff like Pedro The Lion, American Analog Set, The Shins, and Interpol. I’ll let you know tomorrow if they can pull it off live.
