So I dusted off the old turntable and ripped the excellent (well at least the A side is good) Smoking Popes/Groovy Love Vibes split 7” from way back in 1993. I’ve always loved “Hang” as well as the cover of “Leather And Lace” but thought it interesting that neither song was included on the 1991-1998 CD. Supposedly Smoking Popes have a new record due out in early 2008. You can listen to a few of the new songs on the band’s Myspace page.

i absolutly love the smoking popes…good stuff
