It was a few weeks ago that the wife and I headed out to DeKalb, IL to a really cool venue called the House Cafe to see Maritime and our pals in Kid, You’ll Move Mountains. Gold Motel also played. We met up with the great bloggers from Baby, You Got A Stew Goin’ and Love Shack, Baby and also drank well into the night with Jim & Jen You’ll Move Mountains and a couple of the good dudes from Sock Monkey Sound. So, yeah, it was a good night even without any of the music.
Kid, You’ll Move Mountains played second on the bill and (in an unusual move for any band) played only new, unrecorded songs that will appear on their upcoming full-length that should be out sometime in 2011. All I can say is that new songs will blow you away. As great as Loomings is, the new one is gonna be even better. Easily the release I’m most anticipating in 2010. See for yourself below:
Maritime played a ton of songs from their three great albums as well as some songs that will appear on their first album for Dangerbird Records next year. Great stuff, but only one video since we were too busy singing along.

What? No mention of the hot dog stand at 1:00 am? Disappointed.
