Make me a mixtape

Mom & Baby

Hey bloggers! I need some help. My wife has had the same mix CD in her car for the last year-and-a-half (or so) and desperately needs a new one. I am in the process of making her one, but I am also asking for a little help from the readers of CYSTSFTS? I could just head over to Tiny Mix Tapes for some ideas, but how much fun would that be?

How would you (yes, you who is reading this right now) like to help make a mix for my wife? I’m calling on everyone who is interested to submit a song (high quality MP3) or link via email to canyouseethesunset@gmail.com. I’ll take as many submissions as I get and put them all together and post the results for everyone to hear. Thanks (in advance).

[1/17 UPDATE: I’ll take submissions through the end of the weekend (1/22)]

    Is there a deadline?

Since you already have the CD, I’d suggest the live version of “Ashes of American Flags” from Kicking Television. That guitar outro is incredible.

I will be thinking of a couple good songs for the mix — and email you the mp3′s this evening :)

New The Secret Machine single, Alone, Jealous & Stoned…that’d be a good one to choose…

Anon & K – Thanks for the baby comments. If you have any suggestions for the mix, just send em in. Anything.

Everyone – Thanks for all the submissions. Keepp them coming! More is better in this case. I might even have to make her two CD’s!

Saint Simeon by The Shins is always good listening. And for a little harder edge, but still fun, You’re No Rock and Roll Fun by Sleater Kinney. I can send you the mp3s if you don’t have them, just let me know.

I’ll email mine today. Amy will dig.

I agree with wuneye you cant go wrong throwing some Shins in there. I love Jose Gonzalez right now, so relaxing which I figure is what you need when you have a baby.

Would also say to check out Sia if you are into the electronic stuff…kinda Zero 7ish. Very nice.

…along with my 3-4 new mix cds, i’ll also need someone to always ride along with me to change out the cds once they’ve played the whole way through.

*insert batting eyelashes & big cheesy grin here*
