So it turns out that when I lowered the seat just a little bit, controlling this damn unicycle contraption became a whole lot easier. I figured this out during the 30 minutes of practice I got in during my lunch break. I managed to at least (fairly) consistently get rides of 15-25 feet and even managed to bust out a ride of about 50 feet!
I also noticed that starting well is crucial and that a little rock back at the start to position my body with a bit of a forward lean generally yielded better results than any other starting position. With any luck (and more practice) I think I might actually get the hang of this. I did also get about 10 minutes of riding in after work in between jogging around the backyard holding the kiddo’s hand.
Slowly but surely…
