It is a very rare occasion that there is any sort of show out in the suburbs that is worth going to. Last night (however) the awesome Kid, You’ll Move Mountains played at Doug’s Rockhouse in Aurora. An interesting venue that I never knew existed despite going to the DMV right next door a number of times. No drink specials and/or no draft beer make it a bit suspect, but luckily the music was great. Aside from KYMM, I only saw one other band before KYMM called From Here On After (from DeKalb) and they were entertaining but not amazing. Funny that according to Jim (the singer/guitarist for KYMM) the show was only “average” by their standards. If that was average, I can’t imagine how great their best is. The band played (what seemed like) a short set but one thing is for sure, their drummer is fucking amazing! It’s not that the rest of the band ain’t great (they are, just listen to the record) but the drummer was damn intense and the show was great.

I’ve been to that DMV multiple times, and didn’t know about it either. Though I don’t get out much anymore, I’ll have to check it out sometime.
