For real? Have I really done 30 of these things? I guess so. Anyhow, I’ve still got way more (for better or worse) 1990’s songs to post. This would’ve gone up last night but I think I’m getting sick. Sore throat and just all-around tiredness. Oh well, better late than never I guess. “Personal Jesus” is Depeche Mode’s twenty-third UK single, released on August 29, 1989, and the first single from the then upcoming album Violator.

Ahh. Pope John Paul 12… nitpicking, aren’t we? Although the single was released in ’89, the Violator album (which this song appeared on) wasn’t released until March 20, 1990. It just depends on how you look at it. Cheers.
