Yesterday afternoon the Cubs clinched the NL Central and a trip to the postseason for the second consecutive year. It is the first time they’ve done that in the last 100 years and for me to say that I’m excited would be a bit of an understatement. As the Cubs advance through the postseason and eventually win the World Series you’ll be sure to find more coverage of it right here along with more great Cubs songs.

I’m sorry, but that song is awful. It’s like a really generic bruce springsteen song (redundant?) mixed with the drunken hopes of a frat boy faux-musician. I admit to getting goose bumps the first time I saw it on youtube with clips of the cubs, but at the game today, it just seemed forced. Whatever, go Cubs! Steve Goodman 4 Eva!
A few things…. First of all, it saddens me that this is going to take attention away from Steve, who my mom used to date and was actually in my uncle’s frat.
