Headaches and heroics

So yesterday I left work early due to a killer migraine. at first I thought, “Just another headache,” and I popped a few pills. Then the migraine just laughed at me and twisted the vice a little tighter. I couldn’t even think straight and ultimately yacked (yep, I just said yacked) because my headache was so bad. Exactly what you wanted to hear, right? So I then buried my head under a pillow until it was well past dark outside and (thus) no bloggy blog for me.
Tomorrow night Amy and I are headed out to see the one and only Ida and then on Sunday we are taking Hailey back to Schubas to see Elizabeth Mitchell (of Ida) play songs for the kids and (perhaps) take in a little of the Chicago Air & Water Show. The amazing thing about Elizabeth Mitchell is that the kids show is sold out while there are still tickets available for the Ida show. Priorities folks. Priorities. That being said, I expect to see you on Saturday night.
But for now, here we are on a Friday night and I’m just sitting on the living room couch with a mug of green tea and Fugazi’s Repeater playing as I revel in the glory of the amazing Michael Phelps and the miraculous heroics of one Daryle Ward. Speaking of the Cubs, Hailey will now sing the “Go Cubs Go” song when prompted and it is fucking adorable!
