    paul mccartney – frog chorus, number one about 20 years ago, just fucking awful, just one of many crimes by paul mccartney at xmas over the years, plus whatever kept the pogues fairytale of new york from being the best festive number one ever.

    Hey now, some of these songs are fantastic. And no, I’m not saying that with a tongue in cheek.

    Thanks Heather! It should point to the Bowie/Crosby song. It just shouldn’t read Leona Naess. How much would you charge to proofread me daily? :)

    Seriously slinky? From its opening synth to the annoyingly repetitive refrain, that McCartney song is terrible.

    Wham = bad.
    Crosby/Bowie = good but a lot creepy.
    Cash = distinctive but still creepy.
    Chipmunks = funny but only once.

    obviously, we have different tastes in music.

    the synths are what make that mccartney track so good. try listening to it after you’ve been drinking.

    wham – the depressing lyrics are what make this song good and kind of anti christmas.

    everything bowie and cash do/did is creepy.

    chipmunks – so bad they’re good. when i was growing up, they were the only alternative to good but sappy stuff like johnny mathis and nat king cole.

    I’ve always had a penchant for Babs’ coke-induced Jingle Bells-on-Broadway-in-triple time rendition.

    Wham! is pretty bad though.

    And may I say, I LOVE, without sarcasm, Bowie and Bing’s Drummer Boy. I think it’s kind of classic.
