Can you believe that CYSTSFTS didn’t make it onto Stereogum Gummy Awards list of Best Music Blogs list? Seriously. Who gives a shit? I certainly don’t. You see, people get way too uptight about this whole list-making business and who is the most indie son-of-a-bitch in the blogosphere. I don’t have time for any of that nonsense and, besides, who listens to that much crappy indie rock anyway? I mean, have you seen the Gummy Award for Best Album list? At least Gorilla vs. Bear’s list is interesting and presents some albums I’m now curious to give a listen to.

Meh…I’ve only heard of one of those. This is still my music blog of choice, especially for pop-punk
Here’s an amazing album that didn’t make it on the Gummy list, and seems to have flown below the radar:
Johnny Flynn, “A Larum.”
Amazing folksy stuff, weird lyrics, great vocals.
That sucks man. But y’know what, this site is the only blog that really caters to the indie kids that have their roots in punk rock. Those other sites are catered to kids that learn about music from Urban Outfitters and American Apparel.
That being said, this is the only music blog I actually read.
Andddd, if interested, here are some more gift ideas for jaded indie rockers: http://www.nerve.com/CS/blogs/modernmaterialist/archive/2008/12/09/Gifts-for-the-Jaded-Indie-Rock-Aficianado.aspx
You wuz robbed! There, I said it.
stereogum sucks. really. screw ‘em.
I don’t even know who this gummy person is but whether you like/care about the list or not – you deserve to be on it…and many other top music blog lists!
There, I said it.
shout out from philly. Can you… is one of my ‘go to’ sites. Lots of good choices, frequent updates Southside rocks…almost as good as Philly!
I love your blog. I grew up on punk rock but get very impatient with punk blogs. I only can stand one toe in the pool when it comes to the indie blogs. You strike a nice balance here and seem to be a true fan of music and not just some silly scene. Plus I can tell that you came of age, as I did, in the 90s before these stupid kids grew up and ruined music with their girl jeans. So, thanks for being cool.
