Best Practices is a ridiculously good band from Providence, Rhode Island. Their new album (or whatever the release can be classified as) is called The EP LP and what a perfect title it is. On The EP LP Best Practices charges through 9 songs in a Joyce Manor-ish 12 minutes. It is full of what can best described as infectious and buoyantly fervent melodic punk topped with shouted vocals. The guitars have a post-punk angularity and are noisy but also deliver non-stop slinky garage rock hooks. Just imagine something like a faster, more youthful version of Fucked Up’s David Comes To Life or even Grade (if they took speed) and you might be relatively close. I like it quite a bit and with a song called “Welcome To Erf” (which I’m hoping is a reference to Family Man), how can you not love this? Seriously, I’ve just been playing this over and over. Get your copy of The EP LP now from our friends at Tiny Engines. Those dudes rule as does this band.
