That’s right, Bad Religion is back with another new album called new Maps Of Hell. Although it is Bad Religion’s fourteenth politically-charged full-length album the band shows no signs of slowing. Yes, there have been bumps along the way, but on New Maps Of Hell Bad Religion sounds as focused and energized as they’ve been since I was in high school.
Both the wife and I were big Bad Religion fans back in high school and just loved Suffer, Generator, Recipe For Hate, and so on. Their ultra-literate songs were aggressive, catchy, and vehemently anti-establishment, and that made them the perfect diet for a teenage punk. It only took one listen to New Maps Of Hell for me to fall in love with the band all over again. This music will appeal to rebelling teenagers, but also to grown-up punks (like me) as well.
With the founding members of the group all into their 40’s, it is amazing to see the band charging forth. We will hopefully have the chance to see the band tearing up the stage on this summer’s Warped Tour. If you can’t, you can still pick up a copy of New Maps Of Hell (due out tomorrow, July 10) on Epitaph Records.
