Richmond, Virginia has long been known as a city that working-class punks have called home and has been such a place for bands like Avail, Strike Anywhere, and Smoke Or Fire. Another great (and often overlooked) Richmond Band was Ann Beretta.
I just dug out their self-released Nobody’s Heroes EP from a heap of CD’s yesterday and since it is (to the best of my knowledge) way outta print, I’m gonna share those songs with you here. It has the same gritty raw edge that the music of the aforementioned RVA bands has, but also a sorta Rancid-esqe and almost rockabilly vibe at times. Amazing stuff from a band that (IMHO) never got enough recognition.
Although Ann Beretta is currently on hiatus, Rob and Russ are currently playing together in Foundation Band while Leer and Chris continue to play in Sixer.

Thanks a ton for posting this one – I was on a huge Ann Beretta kick last year and wanted to hear this.
