Anchor Arms – Cold Blooded

The first thing that entered my mind when I heard Anchor Arms’debut full-length Cold Blooded was that they had the classic Gainesville punk rock sound. You know, sludgey and loose mid-tempo punk rock with gruff shredded-throat whiskey-soaked vocals. The songs are catchy, but not too catchy, but with enough “whoa’s” and such that you might just want to sing along (as if you could even resist). Anchor Arms isn’t breaking any new ground here but they do this whole sound about as good as it can be done, and at 9 songs in 22 minutes, Cold Blooded is over fast enough to warrant multiple (multiple) listens. RIYL: Smoke Or Fire, Gatorface, Nothington, etc…
