So let’s see, what has been going on around here lately? Lately as in since December or so. Yeah, right before Christmas I mentioned that the wifey is pregnant and she has basically had some sort of morning sickness almost every day since then, so yeah, that’s been tons of fun. We will (hopefully) find out the gender next week. I’ll keep you posted. My three year old daughter has been singing (and continues to do so) Christmas songs and/or just inserting nonsense words into the melody of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” It’s cute but the kid needs to get out of the Christmas spirit until next year. I was going to post her singing (over and over) “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” but didn’t find the motivation to transfer it from my phone. It was cute though.
H’s favorite song to listen to in the car is “Go Cubs Go” so I know I’ve got her set up for a lifetime of disappointment as a Cubs fan. But we were listening to the Tim Barry Munford 7” the other day and as she was singing along to Hey Lolly I thought to myself, “My daughter is singing a Tim Barry song, at least I’ve succeeded in one part of parenting.” But seriously, I’ve been listening to a lot of Tim Barry lately as well as the Look Mexico Gasp Asp 7”, A.C. Newman’s Get Guilty, How Dare You’s Comfort Road, and (recently) bootlegs of CPIK and Thorns of Life.
Other than that, we have all been getting a bit stir-crazy with all the frigid weather so little H has been drawing pictures… a lot of pictures. Here is one of those pictures. I think it is some of her best work so far. So what else? Hailey named a purple plastic fish bathtub toy Collie Poopalooka. Isn’t there a band called that? I’ve spent way too much time on Twitter instead of doing “actual” blogging on this here site. So there. That’s it, well, at least some of it.

Singing random songs is my favorite thing about kids. Will this become my least favorite thing when I actually have kids?
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I hope all keeps going swell with Child #2. I observe that Hailey has the long eyelashes that usually only boys get. May she use them wisely.
