Coalesce has posted two new songs from their forthcoming album OX (due out June 9th) on their Myspace page. The band is also playing at Reggie’s in Chicago on April, 24th. See you there?

So it seems that Dinosaur Jr. will release their follow up to their reunion album (2007’s Beyond) on June 23rd have set a on the awesome Jagjaguwar. The record is titled Farm.

Suburban Home Records has unveiled their new Spring/Summer sampler featuring 25 songs from the likes of Drag The River, Yesterday’s Ring, Jon Snodgrass, Mike Hale, Austin Lucas, In The Red, Stereotyperider, Two Cow Garage, Useless I.D., Ninja Gun, Joey Cape, Tim Barry, Josh Small, The Takers, Jr. Juggernaut, Ghost Buffalo, Chad Price. Tumbledown is the country rock band from Mike Herrera of MXPX and their debut album is due out on May 19th. You can hear songs from the band on their Myspace page.

Did you know the Teen Idols have reformed and may or may not be signed to Fat Wreck Chords? Who knows what the lineup will be this time around but evidently they are also now based right here in Chicago. Who knew?

This is cool. Everyone’s favorite ex-Braid member that wasn’t in Hey Mercedes, Chris Broach (The Firebird Band), has posted a great new song on his Myspace page. The song is called “How Well You Know Me” and will be released on 7” in summer

Title Tracks is the new project from John Davis (Georgie James, Q And Not U) and Michael Cotterman (The Loved Ones) and their debut 7” will be released by Dischord on April 6th. You can hear music from the band on their Myspace page.

Tim Barry (whose 2008 album Manchester was my favorite album of last year) has finished writing a new record that he hopes to record in May and have released before the end of 2009. Awesome. He’s playing at Reggie’s in Chicago on April 16th with Sundowner, Austin Lucas, and Josh Small.

One of my favorite bands,Apocalypse Hoboken, have announced a reunion show planned for August 21st at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago. Why? I dunno, but I’ll take it.

Gainesville’s Rehasher is Roger’s (Less Than Jake) non-ska side project and they are done recording and mixing their follow up to their 2004 debut Off Key Melodies. All that’s holding them up now is finding a label to release it.

Woah! Detournement is an East Coast supergroup consisting of Zak Kaplan (Worthless United), Tom Petta (Bigwig), Scott Golley (Lifetime), Dan Desimoni (Plan A Project) and Nate Gluck (Ensign). They have announced that their debut album Screaming Response will be released on May 5th. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
