Review: The Loved Ones – Build And Burn

My wife and I have been fans of Philadelphia’s The Loved Ones since they released their first EP a few years back. That record and their 2006 full-length Keep Your Heart were full or gritty but melodic East Coast pop punk that played nicely alongside Smoke Or Fire, Kid Dynamite, and the like so as (Read more…)

Lucero/Hot Water Music – 2/1 @ Metro

Un-freaking-believable. That is what Lucero opening for the first of two Hot Water Music reunion tour shows in Chicago was. It was actually quite strange to see Lucero in an opening slot. Super Bowl Sunday is here and I really couldn’t care less who wins the game. At the beginning of the season I’m always hopeful that I’ll be re-posting the Super Bowl Shuffle but it wasn’t even close this year. Below are a few more songs from the 1990’s. As always, enjoy. MP3 | Rage Against (Read more…)

Review: Able Baker Fox – Voices

Listening to the recently released Voices from Able Baker Fox makes me wish I was also going to tonight’s Hot Water Music show at Metro in addition to last night’s (photos forthcoming). For those not already informed, Able Baker Fox is a collaboration between former members of The Casket Lottery, Coalesce, Small Brown Bike, and (Read more…)
