The latest album from Sweeden's Jose Gonzalez, Veneer, originally came out a few years back but was only released domestically in 2005. His music is high quality lo-fi and sounds like a blending of Nick Drake, Paul Simon, and even Mark Kozelek. Blending great vocals and his latin/flamenco inspired guitar work, Gonzalez is at the forefront of today's great new folk artists. I got Veneer and have been listening to it non-stop since it was praised over at Gorilla Vs. Bear a few weeks back.
