Happy birthday to me -

I was only going to post music but heard this story in class tonight.
My accounting professor was training with the Morgan Stanley Company in New York City during the summer of 2001. Now, Morgan Stanley employed over 3500 people on floors 59-69 of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He said that a few minutes after the first plane hit the North Tower, the Port Authority (who managed the towers) came on the P.A. system and told everyone in the South Tower to stay put and that there were no need to worry. After the announcement, the head of security for Morgan Stanley broadcast another message over the P.A. He basically said to disregard the message from the Port Authority and to listen to only him. He said "get up, go to the stairs, and start walking calmly out of the building." That is what my professor and most of the other 3500 people working for Morgan Stanley did. My professor said that only about 5 of the 3500 Morgan Stanley employees in the WTC didn't make it out. The head of security, however, was one of them. He was making sure everyone was out when the second plane hit the South Tower.
It's not really a happy birthday story, but I thought I would retell it anyway.
